FCS Seniors Participate in Mock Interviews with Panel of Community Professionals

November 22, 2019

FCS seniors participated in mock job interviews on Friday, Nov. 22, providing them with a valuable opportunity to learn about professional communication. The students sat for 15-20 minute interviews with a panel of professionals from community companies and organizations. Before the mock interviews, the seniors did a book study of Boost Your Interview IQ by Carole Martin. They also edited their academic resumes to reflect their current achievements, researched the potential interviewers and their companies, and composed their own answers to the most asked interview questions. Thank you to the following professionals who took the time to come to our school and conduct these interviews with our seniors: Kenneth Nix (Assoc Director, Systems Engineering, Takeda Pharmaceuticals), Brian McVeigh (District Attorney, Seventh Judicial Circuit of Alabama), Brookly Becke-Thompson (Doctor of Physical Therapy, Exec Director of Operations, Orthopedic Neurologic Rehabilitation, Inc.), Lorie Denton (Director of Business Development, Calhoun County Econ Development Council), Justin Parker (Director of Military & Post Traditional Student Services, JSU), Kendall Pool (Branch Mgr., Alabama Teachers Credit Union), Emily Mayben (Marketing Dept Head, Alabama Teachers Credit Union), Jeremy Farr (Sr. VP and Chief Operations Officer, Noble Bank & Trust), Stacy Booth (Mktg & Public Communications Admin Asst., City of Oxford), Natalie Lindell (Medical Doctor, General Pediatrics, Oxford Family Practice).
