Choral Music

"The aim and final end of all music is none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul." Johann Sebastian Bach

We love music at FCS!

Music is a wonderful gift from God and is a valued part of our students’ educational experience.  We believe that music is essential to the emotional, spiritual and intellectual development of all children.  Musical training has significant influences on brain development, so children do better in all areas of learning and behavior when they participate in music classes.  Faith Christian School children attend music classes each week in grades 1-6.  Students in grades 4-6 and 7-12 audition for FCS choirs. Performances include annual concerts and ministry opportunities at nursing homes and the United Cerebral Palsy Center.
Elementary Music
Music class should be fun!  Our students sing, dance, stomp, clap, skip, bang on drums and play musical instruments.  We are so grateful to have a new music room and many new Orff instruments (xylophones, mettalaphones, drums, etc.).  Fourth and Fifth grade students are also learning to play the recorder and doing exceptionally well.

Faith Christian High School Choir
The FCS High School Choir has a long reputation for excellence, winning numerous awards at the District and State Choral Festivals held by the Alabama Vocal Association.  The choir was featured at the American Educators Association  In-Service Conference at the University of Alabama in 2007 and was invited to perform at the 2013 conference after receiving all Superior ratings at the AVA State Choral Festival in 2012.  Several FCS graduates have received college scholarships for music.
